This Fall’s collection by  Italo Zucchelli for Calvin Klein Collection was based in the seemingly paradoxical idea of sportswear (so in right now) and tailored formalwear (also very big right now). But only this futurist, with a master’s degree in fabric manipulation could pull of what looked like a gorgeous and simple idea. But a closer looks provides us with the complexities of such techniques. Such as treating with micromesh panels or herringbone peacoats and sport jackets., with or without sleeves. Wool and flannel never looked so “of tomorrow” as they did in this collection. The colours were right up there in the palette we prefer, with dark electric blue, black, dark green, dark red and grey (with hints of taupe). The blue and black looks were super. Sweatshirts in patchworks of technical fabrics with a padded 3D effect of chevron  and the herringbone patterns rendered those tops arguably the coolest of the season. We also loved the way he layered the patterns unto one another. Even the suits (which were split in a two-tone monochromatic effect, also very in!) and jackets had utilitarian sport-chic pockets in all the right places. While this all may seem or sound heavy to wear, the beauty of the tech fabrics is their light way. Now that’s a collection of dressy meets sporty in the most advanced of ways making it the modern guy’s perfect combo for his wardrobe.
